Cherry Cheesecake Bowl

This smoothie bowl uses the blender to remove the most unappealing part of cottage cheese- the texture. Once mixed with the frozen fruit, the cottage cheese imparts only a smooth, creamy, cheesecake-like flavor.

Cottage cheese provides protein to support muscle recovery, while cherries and graham crackers add carbohydrates for energy. Cherries also contain antioxidants, and the creamy, dessert-like texture makes this a kid-friendly option that still supports good nutrition

Prep Time: 10 min

Cook Time: N/A

Servings: 2

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen pitted cherries
  • 1 cup full fat cottage cheese
  • 1 oz graham crackers (2 full sheets)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Optional: 1 tbs vanilla protein powder
Directions:
  1. Separate 5 cherries and 1/2 of one graham cracker sheet. Add remaining ingredients to food processor or blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Pour mixture into two bowls. Top with remaining cherries (sliced) and graham crackers (crumbled).

Tips:

Swap the cherries for blueberries or strawberries for a different flavor.
Add a scoop of vanilla protein powder for an extra punch of recovery after exercise.
